SHADY WILDLIFE GARDEN - HACKNEY

A good sized but shady L-shape city garden needed some thoughtful planting to inject colour and attract wildlife; bringing softness, texture and a sense of 're-wilding' to it's numerous high walls and fences.

We created a 'wild' area for the family to gather round the fire-pit, edged with wildflowers suited to the shady spot beneath the magnolia, and added woodland-edge grasses and ferns. Paving cracks were planted with wild strawberries and delicate silver-leaved Brunnera which shines in spring.
