THE OUTDOOR ROOM

A family of keen BBQ aficionados were looking to extend the length of time over the year they could entertain outdoors. They wanted a simple but smart covered seating area for their relatively modest sized garden to provide cooling shade in summer and a cosy space in spring and autumn, to include a path and planting to link with their existing deck area.

What we created was a beautifully rich-toned and ecologically low-impact heat-treated Ash timber gazebo structure, that hides behind it a pocket-sized shed with BBQ storage space plus a micro-brewery(!). We added a new seating area surfaced in contemporary plank-style paving that complemented the existing deck area. The rest of the garden was given a mini makeover; the simple act of re-orienting the planting beds to a 45 degree angle allows the garden to feel larger and also helps to soften the look of the children's trampoline.
